Girls International Aviation Day 2016

Minnesota led the way in the second annual Girls International Aviation Day, hosting the world’s largest celebration among all Women in Aviation International (WAI) chapters. Held by the Stars of the North WAI, the experience brought over 1,200 people to the Downtown St. Paul Airport on Saturday, September 24, 2016. Plans for the 2017 Girls International Aviation Day are underway.. Lt. Col. Richard E “Dick” Cole • Fagen Fighters WWII Museum

Fagen Fighters WWII Museum was very honored to present living legend, Lt. Col. Richard E “Dick” Cole. A great presentation about the Doolittle Raid by Jon Tennyson with remarks and first hand accounts by Doolittle Raider Lt. Col. Dick Cole at 101 years of age. Col. Cole who was Jimmy Doolittle’s copilot presented a Doolittle Raid Congressional Gold Medal to Ron and Diane Fagen to be displayed in the Museum to honor a deceased Minnesota Raider recipient. The group shot features all the WWII Veterans at the event. Lt. Col. Dick Cole is shown displaying the Congressional Gold Medal he presented.

Girls International Aviation Day 2015

Minnesota led the way in the first annual Girls International Aviation Day, hosting the world’s largest celebration among all Women in Aviation International (WAI) chapters. Held by the Stars of the North WAI and AirSpace Minnesota, the experience brought 1,000 people to the Downtown St. Paul Airport on Saturday, September 26. The skies over St. Paul were filled with excitement as 213 young people received Young Eagles flights provided by volunteer pilots from EAA Chapters 25, 1518 and 237. Plans for the 2016 Girls International Aviation Day are underway.. The Kiddie Hawk Air Academy  is a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to introducing, educating, and sparking children’s interest in aviation.  The Kiddie Hawk Trainers give children ages 4-9 a sense of flight, albeit only a few feet off the ground.  It is the mission of the Kiddie Hawk Air Academy to give children the “spark” they need to help create the next generation of aviators and aviation Legends, while teaching them the importance of academic excellence to reach their aviation dreams.
